What is the most important wine producing region in Argentina?

That depends what you mean by 'important'. The Cuyo Region is where the Famatina Valley is situated and it is here that the bulk wines are produced. So if you measure importance by volume of wines produced then the Famatina Valley, followed by the San Juan Province are the two most important wine producing regions. If, however, quality is your measure then the two Denominacíones de Origen (DO) areas; Luyan de Cuyo and San Rafael, both located in Mendoza Province are the most important.

When is the wine harvest in Argentina?

The Instituto Nacional de Vitvinicultura (INV) declares the harvest date which is usually mid-February
