Palate Profile

The younger sibling in the Lascombes family is no junior. Selected from batches that are not earmarked for the Grand Vin, this Second Wine of Château Lascombes has undeniable charm and offers real drinking pleasure.

Very round, supple and quaffable on the palate. Richness of fruit flavour reminiscent of the jams of yesteryear. Good, ripe tannins come through in the finish.

Critic Awards

Juicy and round tannins to this make it so attractive already. Medium to full body, delicious fruit and a long and flavorful finish. Excellent second wine from Lascombes.

The 2018 Chevalier de Lascombes is bright, punchy and everything a second wine should be, most importantly, absolutely delicious. Juicy, red berry fruit and floral notes are pushed forward in this supple, inviting Margaux.

Lascombes is pretty much the biggest estate in Margaux, with 120ha of vines (plus 10ha in AOC Haut-Médoc), so this is always a wine with good volume, helped by yields of 45hl/ha in 2018. It's good quality, with punch and personality. An easy-drinking style and approachable soon.

Doubtful about the storing conditions of the wine.

Albeit the quality of the wine can be maintained, I still worry about the it before open it. I feel doubtful about the temperature of the wine which was at room temperature not like being kept in wine cellar/fridge before shipping to me.
