Dense inky black colour with a deep dark red hue. Pronounced scents of liquorice and blackberry meld into ripe blackcurrant, light tobacco, vanillin cedar, black olive, subtle bay leaf and spice notes. Rich blackberry and liquorice fruits collide with blackcurrant to create a sumptuous feel across the full bodied palate. Vanillin cedar, traces of tobacco, faint earthy dried herbs and spice sit beneath. Structured tannins impart a robust feel yet are very polished. Outstanding power and depth with a very long aftertaste that’s decorated in dark fruit.
Cellar 8-10 years. Alc. 14.5%
"55% shiraz, 45% cabernet sauvignon, aged in French oak for 21 months, 35% new. Ripe plum with a touch of leaf/herb on the bouquet and some noticeable cedar/mocha oak influence. Ample flavour with sweetness of fruit, but not really a typically big brawny Barossa style red. Not long bottled when tasted, and likely to rate higher as it develops."
