Ulithorne McLaren Vale Chi Shiraz Grenache 2019
RRP HK$280.00
HK$240.00 each
"Deep red/purple colour, with a reserved but perfumey aroma of flowers and spices, violets, scented oak, and a robust palate structure with abundant tannin and richness surrounding a lush core of sweet, ripe berry fruit. A gorgeous wine, sumptuous and delicious, balanced and accessible now but also promising to age superbly."
Huon Hooke, The Real Review. 94/100
"52/48% blend from Blewitt Springs. French oak, most of it used. It's a lifted, pretty, interesting red. Not your standard fare. Orange rind and juice tossed through redcurrant, violets, chocolate powder and malt. Tannin is ultra fine-grained and length is decent. Much to recommend it."
Campbell Mattinson, Hallidays Wine Companion. 94/100
"McLaren Vale blend of shiraz 51% and Grenache. Blewitt Springs in fact. It’s a bit exotic. It tastes keenly of orange rind and even of orange juice and when you then add florals, choc and malt-like characters the effect is pretty seductive. There’s bright redcurrant-driven fruit and tannin-dusted-with-cocoa, fine-grained. Juicy is the word. More-ish."
