Palate Profile
Riesling vines were first planted as part of Henry Best’s ‘Nursery Block’ vineyard in the 1860s. From subsequent plantings in 1944 (since removed), 1978 and 1998 Riesling became a significant part of our regime. The Riesling vines from Great Western produce flavoursome, elegantly structured, spectacularly age-worthy
Rieslings which stand confidently alongside some of the most outstanding Australian examples of the variety. In recent times, the style has evolved to match the continental climatic conditions to a beautifully balanced wine with texture and aromatics.
The wine is a luminescent pale straw with a green hue. An enchanting nose of honeysuckle, muddled lime, wet stone and fresh beeswax. On the palate a pure line of bony acidity rounded with intense lime and melon flavours. Long and satiating.

Pale straw, youthful in appearance. Lifted, pure aromas of white flowers, citrus blossom and lemon rind—really inviting. The flavours are bright, lemony and tangy. There's sherbet and talc, and a delightful acid zippiness and a generosity of flavour that carries through and gives impressive length
