Cascina Adelaide Barolo Cannubi 2013
93 Points and recommended as the top wines of the Barolo 2013 Vintage by Stephen Brook, Decanter
Aged 24 months in oak barrels and 6 months in the bottle. The Cannubi is a great and elegant wine with delicate violet and plums, minerality and spicy characteristics. Suitable for a cuisine of strong taste, red meat dishes, game, truffle-based recipes, marbled and mature cheeses. Can be aged for 10 to 15 years or more from harvest.
About the Producer:
Cascina Adelaide has been a working winery with its own “Cru” vineyards in the Barolo region of Piedmonte for over 100 years. They now own top sites in eight out of the 10 Barolo “Crus” with plans to get to 10 as and when the right sites become available.
Now one of Barolo’s upcoming superstar wineries, the wine from Cascina Adelaide has received many accolades including multiple above-90-point ratings in The Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast, 91 points for the Barolo Preda in Veronelli, and was winner of 5 stars in Decanter Magazine. But point scores don't really tell the story of these wines. Walking a tightrope between the modernists and the traditionalists, what really sets Cascina Adelaide apart is their vineyard holdings and their commitment to the diversity of the terroirs within the Barolo DOCG.
