Palate Profile

This 2015 Chateau Brown wine has a bright ruby lustre. With aromas of ripe fruits such as dark cherry, prune this wine exhibits hints of blackcurrant that conjure up the hot dry summers in Pessac before the rains in late July.

On the palate, this wine shows up both hot and sweet spices, including white peppercorn and, at the same time, a hint of cinnamon in the backbone. This is a dry and full- bodied style Pessac red with very structured tannins, woody notes and great potential for ageing up to 20 years.

Critic Awards

Aromas of black olives, blackberries, blueberries and lightly toasted walnuts. Full-bodied, layered and gorgeous with such beautiful fruits and polished tannins. A beautiful thing. So drinkable now but be patient.

This wine is a gorgeously rich plum colour, with a silky texture. It's polished in the extreme - this could be thrown onto a stage in front on a baying crowd and still come out smiling. Elegant and balanced, all smooth corners and finessed damson fruit. Sums up Pessac Léognan in a glass.

This balanced wine is soft and ripe yet fresh, with medium acidity. Juicy blackberry flavors lend a richness to the palate, framed by soft tannins.

Bright and fresh, with a floral edge out front, followed by black cherry and red currant fruit. Light tar and licorice accents add range on the finish, staying pure and well-balanced. Drink now through 2027

The medium garnet-purple colored 2015 Brown has loads of crushed black berries and red currants notions with notes of tilled loam, dried herbs and meat. Medium-bodied, firm and chewy in the mouth, it has a lively backbone and herbal lift to the finish.
