Handpicked Wines Yarra Valley Chardonnay 2014
The nose shows stones fruits and lifted barrel ferment aromas of cashew nut and bacon. The medium weight palate has plenty of spicy fruit flavour and just enough grape skin character to fill out the palate. Textured & Savoury, quite full-bodied. Pair with Tandoori Chicken or a Mild Brie.
Vintage 2014 was a difficult one throughout the Yarra Valley and a very small harvest began quite early in late February, when this Chardonnay was picked.
Two premium vineyards provided the fruit for this wine. Highbow Hill Vineyard is planted on hills outside Yarra Glen and Coombe Farm is in the Coldstream on the Yarra Valley floor. This wine was fermented and aged in a mix of old and new French oak barrels.
