Palate Profile

The 2018 Hentley Farm The Beauty, is a wine of elegance, grown on the coolest block on the property and co-fermented with a touch of Viognier. The Beauty displays complex lifted aromatics, along with the softness and subtlety befitting a wine of this name.

 

Critic Awards

Wet skins of viognier (3%) co-fermented, destemmed, closed fermentation for 6 days, matured in French oak (35% new) for 20 months. In archetypal Hentley Farm mode. Deeply layered and polished black fruits, tannins and just the right amount of new oak.

Bold, deep, bright purple colour. Fresh, plummy, primal fruit aromas, with hints of star anise and graphite. Some plum jam hints. Full-bodied, big and warming due to alcohol, which adds a little heat to the finish.
