Palate Profile

Produced By James Halliday's Winemaker of the Year 2018!

Malbec is rarely seen as a varietal wine in Australia but this one from a Langhorne Creek producer established in 1850 performs well enough to earn its stripes. This wine shows vibrant primary fruit flavours of plums, red berries and pepper spice. A plush, juicy red with velvety smooth tannins.

Established in 1850 by English migrant Frank Potts who arrived in South Australia on the Buffalo in 1836, this is one of Australia's oldest wineries. The source vineyards are situated on the floodplains of the Bremer River in Langhorne Creek, benefiting from the cooling breezes across Lake Alexandrina, and the cool slopes of the Adelaide Hills.

ABOUT KEMENY'S HIDDEN LABEL

Kemeny's Hidden Label range is a unique concept where we sell the exact same commercial wine under our Hidden Label range.  The only difference is we sell these for around half the price they normally sell for under their own label.  Also, for some added fun, we have hidden the name of the winemaker on the front label to give you a clue of what the actual wine really is!

HINT: (you can always google the wine review as well).

Critic Awards

Three gold medals at second tier shows, silver at Perth Royal Wine Awards and Royal Adelaide Wine Show. It is a seriously good malbec by normal standards, but {secret winery} is Australia's foremost maker of the variety, investing it with rich, velvety plum and blackberry fruits, supported with amiable tannins. Exceptional value.
