Penfolds Max's Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2017
Penfolds Max’s Chardonnay is a tribute to former Chief Winemaker Max Schubert 1948-1975, a legend in Penfolds history. Max’s constant pursuit of excellence paved the way for those who followed in his footsteps and also allowed the status and heritage of Penfolds to grow. Max’s Chardonnay displays the Penfolds ‘stamp’ inspired by Max Schubert.
Penfolds Max's Chardonnay 2017 is a light straw colour. The nose is a harmonious blend of yellow stone fruit, soft pistachio nougat, and honeydew melon. The palate has a delicate and soft mouth coating with laminated acidity. Flavours of citrus edge - lime spice and finger lime sweetness. Balanced and complete.
"This complex and attractive chardonnay has a neat core of white peaches, pears and honeydew melon with a refined, dry and layered palate. Long, fresh, peach and lemon finish. Drink now." 92 Points James Suckling
"The 2017 Chardonnay Max’s is packaged in an interesting grey wrap ... ripe notes of melon, mango, and honeyed grapefruit all giving way to a medium-bodied, vibrant, racy white that has loads of appeal. It’s unquestionably worth the going rate." 90 Points Jeb Dunnuck
