This 2020 Chardonnay from Amadio Wines (Adelaide Hills) delivers a vibrant, fresh expression of the variety in a cool-climate context. According to its technical details, the fruit was harvested in the early hours to retain acidity and then matured in light French oak for nine months with extra time on lees, giving the wine both texture and finesse. On the nose, expect aromas of nectarine, ripe pear, cashew nut and hints of yellow melon and nougat. On the palate it’s rich and generously flavoured yet still bright, with juicy acidity and a lingering finish.
