"Matured in new and old French oak for 15 months. It's a svelte shiraz. It's rich with sweet fruit, mostly in the plum and asphalt spectrum, though smoky oak, vanilla and clove characters play subtle-but-important roles. There isn't a lot of tannin to speak of but there's enough; it's simply melted into the fruit. It's made in a warmer style and stressed herb characters are apparent but all indications are that it will mature well."
Campbell Mattinson, Hallidays Wine Review. 93/100
"Yet another triumph for this highly regarded winery. The Unicus story is developing into a formidable body of work"
SAM KIM, WINE ORBIT 96/100
"Deepish red colour with a glint of purple. Pepper-spice and nutmeg aromas, some green walnuts, the palate medium to full-bodied, lean and sinewy, with grip and grit. The palate is very firm and a bit uneven at this tender age. I'd cellar it."
Huon Hooke, The Real Review. 90/100
Lifted blackberry, cedar and dark spices with hints of chocolate and aniseed. Rich, ripe palate showing abundant dark fruit and spices supported by smoky oak. Fine, chalky tannins and great length.
Gently fermented in small opens with hand plunging. Matured in new and older French Oak hogsheads for 15 months before blending
