Casas Del Bosque Pinot Noir Gran Reserva 2018
This 100 percent Pinot Noir comes from a single vineyard, located within the coolest, westernmost reaches of the Casablanca Valley. The vines are 10 to 15-year-old, sourced from hillside blocks planted on 110-million-year-old decomposed granite. The grapes underwent a double selection process before going into small stainless-steel tanks for fermentation. The wine was aged for twelve months in second-to-fifth-use French oak barrels.
"On the nose intense aromas of cinnamon, black plum and cedar dominate with just a hint of orange blossom. In the mouth red cherry, raspberry and a touch of allspice are all in evidence. A well integrated oak backbone is backed-up by fresh acidity together with soft, well-rounded tannins with together impart excellent structure and length."
