Giesen 0% is an alcohol-removed wine that everyone can enjoy, no matter the occasion. Made from premium full-strength wines, Giesen 0% keeps all the best qualities of Giesen Estate.
If you're reducing or moderating your alcohol intake, these alcohol-removed and low alc wines offer a delicious alternative, containing less than 0.5% alcohol by volume. This is about the same as what naturally occurs in fruit juice!
Giesen 0% wines are also 70-80% lower in calories than standard 12.5% alcohol ABV wines, making them a great alternative for the health-conscious wine drinker!
With 5 varietals available, the Giesen 0% range features three major firsts—the first 0% New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, the first 0% New Zealand red wine, and the first 0% New Zealand Riesling, all of which won awards at the 2022 international Wine & Spirits competition in London:
🥇 Gold Medal (95 Points) - Giesen 0% Merlot
🥈 Silver Medal (91 Points) - Giesen 0% Rosé
🥉 Bronze Medal (85 Points) - Giesen 0% Riesling
How The Wine Is Made
The process begins with Giesen's premium full-strength wines. The winemaking team don’t cut any corners here and use the same quality wine that they sell as their full-strength Estate wines. They then use innovative spinning cone technology to distil it into three parts – aroma, alcohol, and body. The body of the wine is then recombined with the aroma and add a touch of premium grape juice to balance the flavours. Our process is a bit different to other options on the market that can use more aggressive reverse osmosis methods or don’t involve creating a wine at all. But taking those extra steps is important to us as it means we can create a final blend that is as much like a real wine as possible.
