The region's cool climate influences the grape ripening, resulting in fresh, citrusy flavors complemented by notes of green apple and flint. Chablis is classified into four main tiers: Petit Chablis, Chablis, Chablis Premier Cru, and Chablis Grand Cru, with the latter two representing the highest quality.

With a rich history dating back to the 12th century, Chablis continues to be a benchmark for elegant white wines.
