Profile

The Louis Jadot Beaujolais-Villages 2024 is a vibrant, fruit-forward expression of Gamay sourced from select sites in the northern Beaujolais region. Produced by one of Burgundy’s most respected houses, this wine is made using traditional fermentation in stainless steel without carbonic maceration, allowing the natural fruit character of Gamay to shine with clarity and freshness.

In the glass, it offers an inviting bouquet of juicy red berries—think strawberries, raspberries, and red currants—with a subtle floral lift of violets and hints of spice. The palate is light to medium-bodied, silky in texture, and marked by soft tannins and lively acidity. There’s a purity to the fruit that makes it exceptionally easy to drink, with a mineral edge adding complexity to the clean, vibrant finish.

The 2024 vintage has already garnered praise, earning a Bronze medal at the International Wine Challenge. While it’s not a deeply complex wine, it delivers precisely what a good Beaujolais-Villages should: freshness, charm, and drinkability. Some consumer reviews note that it’s more on the delicate side, and perhaps lacks intensity if you’re expecting something bold—but for lovers of elegant, youthful reds, it ticks all the boxes.

This is a perfect wine to enjoy slightly chilled, especially in warmer weather. It pairs beautifully with charcuterie, roast chicken, grilled vegetables, or even just a crusty baguette and cheese. With its affordability and approachability, the Louis Jadot Beaujolais-Villages 2024 is ideal for casual gatherings and everyday enjoyment. It’s not trying to be a Cru Beaujolais or a complex Burgundy—but within its style, it’s a very satisfying drop.
