Profile
The Louis Jadot Côte de Beaune Villages 2022 is a classically crafted Pinot Noir from Burgundy’s southern Côte d’Or, blending fruit from villages like Chorey‑lès‑Beaune and Ladoix. Jadot destems the grapes, ferments them in open tanks for 25–33 days to develop color, structure, and aromatic depth, then matures the wine in oak barrels for around 12 months
Visually, it typically shows a garnet-red hue with a hint of maturity. The nose is inviting and fruit-driven, offering vibrant red berry aromas—strawberries, raspberries, cherries—with a touch of earthiness, leather, and gentle wood spices such as vanilla and tobacco. On the palate, it is medium-bodied yet elegant, featuring silky, restrained tannins, a fresh acidity, and flavors of red fruit layered with subtle damp earth, coffee, and smoky notes.
The wine is built for early enjoyment rather than long-term aging. Tasting guides recommend drinking it within 3–5 years of vintage, as it retains charm and accessibility in its youth. While not a deep Cru-level Burgundy, it delivers clarity, balance, and an understated elegance.
