Palate Profile
Peter Lehmann, mentored countless people over his 50-year career and this wine is named in his honour. Mentor Cabernet Sauvignon is made as the best expression of vintage. By drawing fruit from a number of Barossa sub-regions, it displays immense varietal definition with added complexity of fruit from low-yielding old vines matured in French oak barrels.
The wine is a dense and vibrant purple hue with notes of lifted blackcurrant, vanilla and chocolate with a youthful ripe and dark plum spectrum. On the palate the fruit weight is immense, however it melds together with mouth coating tannins, dusty French oak and a beautiful acid core.

A densely packed blackberry, cassis and kirsch-like fruit profile, cut through with deep spice, dark chocolate, espresso, licorice and earth. Impressive fruit density with a bristling, muscular framework and chewy, blackberry-rich finish that lingers nicely.
Peter Lehmann would have loved this wine which is a big and chunky red that encapsulates that inherent power and fruit generosity seen in the best wines from the Barossa Valley. It’s a little raw right now and needs some time to settle but you can feel very comfortable tucking this away for at least a decade as it has real staying staying power.
