The 2023 Rockburn Pinot Noir is a refined and expressive wine that captures the essence of Central Otago's premium terroir. Made primarily from fruit grown on the Parkburn Vineyard with a smaller portion from Gibbston, this vintage offers an elegant balance of vibrant fruit, spice, and structure. The wine pours a deep ruby red with a purple core and opens with lifted aromas of black cherry, plum, and dark berries, layered with mocha, dried herbs, and subtle oak spice.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with generous flavours of black cherry, redcurrant, rhubarb, and a touch of five-spice. Fine tannins and bright acidity give it a supple mouthfeel and lingering finish. Crafted with minimal intervention, this is a Pinot Noir that delivers both finesse and power, making it suitable for both immediate enjoyment and cellaring over the next 5–8 years.
