Sourced from premium sites, Astrolabe Marlborough Pinot Noir 2020 embodies Marlborough’s terroir, offering a refined, fruit-driven profile with a lingering, earthy finish—perfect for savoring or pairing with cuisine.

Critic awards

Youthful, complex savoury spice, plum and dark cherry, layers of fruit and oak and secondary scents from the synergies between these two attributes. Youthful, intense, fresh, varietal and fruity on the palate. Dry with a coarse silk texture, medium+ tannins and plenty of acidity for foundation and straucture. There’s a core of complexity and savory spices leading to a lengthy dry finish. Flavours continue with dark cherry an vanilla, dark rose an baking spice. Youthful and delicious with best drinking from 2025 through 2034.

The 2020 Marlborough Pinot Noir is a silky, supple little thing, with red apple skins, strawberry, red cherry and hints of exotic spice (sumac, nutmeg, cinnamon, etc.) on the palate. The finish is firm and a little chewy (not a pejorative comment), but what this offers is classy and complete.
