Profile

From legendary estate Bleasdale Vineyards in Langhorne Creek, this 2022 “Iron Duke” is a single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon selection matured 12 months in 20 % new French oak. 
The wine displays deep plum and cassis core fruit, layered with chocolate-oak, violets, cedar and savoury spice. Refined but powerful tannins frame a long finish that invites cellaring well into the 2030s. 

Critics have responded strongly: awarded a 95-point score by the Halliday Wine Companion. Recommended drinking window is from 2025 through to 2040+.

Critic awards

The Iron Duke is a 'best of barrels' selection, matured for 12 months in French oak puncheons (20% new). This is a substantial cabernet, classic in its styling, leafy and elegant where it needs to be but otherwise fruit-filled and plush. Whispers of smoked cedar and resin are the perfect complement to pure blackcurrant, rust, graphite and mint. This label has been on a superb, class-leading run of form in recent years, and once again, its quality is right up there.
