Profile

This 100 percent Sauvignon Blanc comes from a single vineyard called 'La Cantera'. This vineyard is located within the coolest, westernmost reaches of the Casablanca Valley, 18 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean at 250 meters altitude, planted on an east-facing hillside of red clay of decomposed granite soils, with plenty of exposure to the sun and the marine breezes that characterize Casablanca.

"La Cantera" already marks a style that is also respected in this vintage 2024. The taste is dominated by citrusy and tropical notes, with a vertical acidity sensation that emulates a sense of direction on the palate. The sensation of "saltiness" on the back palate speaks of our site: Las Dichas. This La Cantera 2024 is an outstandingly aromatic wine, which delivers the true cool climate expression of our vineyard, located in Las Dichas, the coldest end of the Casablanca Valley.” ALBERTO GUOLO, WINEMAKER

Critic awards

For this La Cantera, Casas del Bosque selects vineyards from an area it owns in Las Dichas (La Cantera), with granite-rich soils and north-facing vineyards, which is a warmer orientation on this side of the world. This is a jovial wine with herbal and fruity aromas and slight saline touches in the middle of a body where the acidity is the backbone and, from there, the flavors of tart white fruits unfold throughout the palate. A perfect white for an aperitif.

A citrus led nose, crushed lemons, mandarin skin, lime and a slight herbaceous note. On the palate, it shows ripe citrus fruits, grapefruit and jalapeño - good fresh acidity and a lemon twist on the finish. Fresh, easy and simple style.
