Profile
From Chile's Casablanca Valley is a refined expression of cool-climate Pinot Noir, showcasing the region's potential for producing elegant and balanced wines. Crafted from grapes grown on granitic soils with optimal sun exposure, this vintage presents a vibrant ruby red hue and offers aromas of ripe strawberries, leafy earth, and graphite. On the palate, it delivers smooth and elegant tannins, a long and fruity finish, and medium acidity, making it both approachable and complex.
This wine has garnered critical acclaim, receiving a Gold Medal at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC). The judges praised its "smoky and spicy aromas of ripe cranberries and hedgerow berries," noting that "the palate reveals fresh, crunchy red fruits and a subtle layer of moreish toast on the refined, lingering finish." Such accolades underscore the wine's quality and the winery's commitment to excellence.
The 2023 vintage faced challenges, including spring frosts that impacted yields. However, the resulting wine reflects the resilience and expertise of the winemaking team. With an alcohol content of 13.5%, this Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with dishes like long-cooked duck, pasta stuffed with duck and béchamel, or porcini mushroom sauce, and can be enjoyed now or cellared for up to 10 years.
