Palate Profile

Chateau Tanunda Terroirs of the Barossa Eden Valley Shiraz 2019 reflects the slate and granite soils with strong mineral notes, and fruit flavours of blackberry, Morello cherry. Complex deeper notes of earth and cured meats bring the palate to a long and evenly weighted finish.

Critic Awards

Spicy dark berries and fresh leather aromas adorn the nose, luring you in. Flashes of roses appear, the palate is velvety rich and spicy. There's a lovely buoyancy to this full-bodied shiraz. It finishes with lightness and elegance. This is delicious and offers a lot—although with time in the cellar it will offer more.

Shiraz sourced from the cool climes of the Eden Valley; aged in oak for 18 months. Blackberry, boysenberry and dark plum characters are supported by an array of fine spice, licorice, charcuterie and dark chocolate with lighter notes of sage and wild herbs. Tight, fine tannin provides support and bright acidity the pulse. The wine lingers persistently, showing lovely fruit purity and grace.

GOLD MEDAL: Berlin Wine Trophy 2023

Deep ruby in colour, this Eden Valley Shiraz is a fleshy, ripe style, and more what you’d expect from the Barossa Valley floor. It has lashings of fruit pastilles, dried figs and boysenberry aromas with a light dusting of more traditional Eden Valley characters including white pepper and Bay leaf. The generosity of fruit continues in the mouth with raisiny edges and drying chewy tannins.
