Profile

The younger sibling in the Lascombes family is no junior. Selected from batches that are not earmarked for the Grand Vin, this Second Wine of Château Lascombes has undeniable charm and offers real drinking pleasure.

Very round, supple and quaffable on the palate. Richness of fruit flavour reminiscent of the jams of yesteryear. Good, ripe tannins come through in the finish.

The 2020 Chevalier de Lascombes is made from a blend of Merlot (50%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (50%).

The wine has a nice intensity in the bouquet marked by blackberry aromas, cinnamon and cocoa beans. It has. a savory and juicy character on the palate. The finish is fruity and racy.

Critic awards

Dark ruby, purple reflections, a soft brightening on the rim. Notes of vanilla and chocolate, with ripe cherries underneath, subtle leafy notes, tobacco nuances. Lean, red berries, vivid tannins, a bit brittle on the finish, somewhat rustic, uncomplicated.
