I Custodi delle Vigne dell'Etna Pistus 2019 is a smooth red wine with a ruby red colour. The nose is dry and fruity, with hints of red fruits (cherry). The palate is fresh and balanced, easy and pleasant to drink, with structured and very pleasant tannins. Good structure. Fruity and fresh finish.

To make I Custodi delle Vigne dell'Etna Pistus, the grapes are grown in the Contrada Moganazzi vineyard in Castiglione di Sicilia, on the north side of Etna, at an altitude of 700 metres. These are old vines (about 10 years old), planted on sandy-volcanic soil that is very rich in minerals. Cultivated using Alberello (the local traditional method that prunes the wines into a small tree), these 7.5 hectares never see any mechanised work, so everything is done manually and meticulously (especially the grape harvest).
