“Surely a contender for ‘value buy of the year’”

Wine critic, Ken Gargett ( recently reviewed a famous Clare Valley winerie’s estate shiraz.

Upon tasting this wine, Ken proclaimed that it is “surely a contender for value buy of the year”, going on to describe it as “a brooding, deep red with aromas of plums, chocolate, cigar boxes, dry herbs and raspberries - the black fruits kick in much more on the palate”. It is clear Ken was very impressed saying that it “is utterly delicious” and “terrific stuff”.

This Clare Valley Shiraz 2021 is full of brambles and blue/black fruits with a spicy lift. Layers of brooding dark fruits, spice and savoury characters are framed in fine oak. The sinewy tannin profile pulls the wine through to a long and moreish finish.

Kemeny's Hidden Label range is a unique concept where we sell the exact same commercial wine under our Hidden Label range.  The only difference is we sell these for around half the price they normally sell for under their own label.  Also, for some added fun, we have hidden the name of the winemaker on the front label to give you a clue of what the actual wine really is!

Critic Awards

Surely a contender for value buy of the year. Maroon purple, brooding, deep red with aromas of plums, chocolate, cigar boxes, dry herbs and raspberries – the black fruits kick in much more on the palate. There is good density, but the wine retains its freshness. With very fine tannins and a lingering finish, this is utterly delicious and should remain so for at least the next 6 to 8 years.

Gold - 92 Points, Catavinum World Wine & Spirits Competition

Elegant, restrained complex style. Attractive plum compote with balanced dark chocolate fruit and soft tannins.
