Palate Profile

SUPER TUSCAN!

A blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Alicante from a 25 year old vineyard in the Baccinello area. Soils are rich in pebbles of alluvial origin and a prevalence of calcareous clays. The high concentration of oxidised  iron lends minerality and structure to this outstanding Super Tuscan wine. Aged for 15 months in used French oak.
Deep ruby colour. Complex bouquet of ripe red cherries, with plum, leather, black pepper, licorice, vanilla, dark chocolate and a persistent earthiness. Full-bodied, with good acidity and ripe, grainy tannins. Long and dry finish.

Critic Awards

A complex and beautiful wine with crushed berries and hints of cedar and sandalwood. Medium to full body, round tannins and a juicy finish. Lots going on. 95% sangiovese and 5% alicante. Drink or hold.
