The 2019 Tenute San Fabiano Piocaia Rosso di Toscana IGT is a testament to the rich winemaking heritage of Tuscany. Crafted from a blend of 60% Sangiovese and 40% Merlot, this wine originates from the Palazzaccio vineyards, situated at elevations between 250 and 400 meters with southeast-facing slopes and clay-gravel soils. The grapes are meticulously hand-harvested, followed by fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats with extended skin maceration. The wine then matures for 12 months in small French oak barriques and undergoes an additional six months of bottle aging, enhancing its complexity and depth. 

In the glass, Piocaia 2019 reveals a ruby-purple hue. The nose is greeted with aromas of spice box and balsamic notes, while the palate offers a long and soft finish. 

Critically acclaimed, this vintage received an 89-point rating from the Decanter World Wine Awards and was awarded a Silver Medal at the 2022 International Wine & Spirit Competition, highlighting its quality and appeal.
