This is a new wine from Yann and Cristela made from Pinot Noir grapes sourced from a vineyard near the village of Ladoix-Serrigny which is about 6 kilometres north of the town of Beaune and also on the road to Villers-la-Faye which is where Yann lives and where some of his most interesting vineyards are.
The wine was made with a reasonably long maceration but aged in vats to maintain the freshness and vibrancy of the wine.
About Yann Durieux
With his decade long experience at Domaine Prieuré Roch, the young winemaker, Yann Durieux, decided the time was ripe to start his own winery Recrue des Sens in 2010. Working on a small area just 3 hectares in size up the hills of the Hautes Cote de Nuits in Villers La Faye, Durieux continued his focus on producing wines as naturally as he could, taking inspiration from Henri Frederic Roch with whom he considered a father figure, and who had also encouraged him to vinify his early vintages in 2008 and 2009 in the domain’s cellars. All of his wines are certified organic biodynamic. Vineyards have never been damaged by chemical. Hand picked grapes are fermented with whole bunch. Yann is as secretive about his winemaking recipes as a Voodoo witch doctor!
