Palate Profile
Riesling vines were first planted as part of Henry Best’s ‘Nursery Block’ vineyard in the 1860s. From subsequent plantings in 1944 (since removed), 1978 and 1998 Riesling became a significant part of our regime. The Riesling vines from Great Western produce flavoursome, elegantly structured, spectacularly age-worthy
The wine has a pale intensity, with white gold hue. Pronounced aromas of apricot blossom, coupled with a touch of apple, lemon, and pineapple. A palate that consists of primary fresh fruits. A medley of apricot, peach, guava, citrus pith, and lemon sorbet. Unmistakable intensity throughout that is balanced with green apple acidity. This dry style is light bodied, with great intensity.
Best paired with fresh seafood and Asian style salads.
