Smaragd stands for dry, dense and complex wines from the Wachau; In addition to structure and depth, emeralds also impress with their great storage potential Chilled, fresh from the fridge, the Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Terrassen is a versatile companion.
It goes just as well with characterful Mediterranean dishes such as a fish paella or a vitello tonnato as with local classics fried zander-Serbian with garlic or for roast pork with cabbage or one stuffed veal breast.
The wine also harmonizes with Asian cuisine such as to the Thai Satay Gai (chicken skewers with peanut sauce). This wine shows itself Very accessible even when young, but can also be stored for 3 to 5 years.

The 2020 Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Terrassen is intense and spicy on the generous and quite complex nose that reveals notes of crushed (black) stones rather than from loess. Round and elegant on the palate, with fine, crystalline and salty-mineral acidity and fine bitters on the finish, this is an impressive wine for low budgets.
